Abstract
The existence of the Kota Tua with its historical stories makes the area has its own charm because it describes how the atmosphere was during the colonial era. Traveling activities carried out in Jakarta are inseparable from places related to past atrocities. Therefore, the term dark tourism was born to build a more balanced understanding of how and in what form the past is present in the present. This study uses a descriptive quantitative method that aims to explain the effect of intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation on visiting decisions. In this study, it was found that intrinsic and extrinsic motivation partially influenced the decision to visit tourists related to dark tourism in the Kota Tua and it was also found that intrinsic and extrinsic motivation simultaneously influenced the decision to visit tourists to dark tourism attractions in the Kota Tua Jakarta area. The manager can make discount offers for group visits and loyalty programs for visitor, and can develop augmented reality technology in the environment around Kota Tua Jakarta to be able to see Kota Tua in the past so that it can make the atmosphere in the Kota Tua more interesting and make visitors feel as if they feel they are living in the past.
